    At first glance, it looked like Wayne Leibold, 41, was lying in bed in his cell. But a closer look showed that it was a dummy: sweat pants and a shirt stuffed with newspapers and a mop for a head.

   When the dummy was discovered at the Suffolk County jail in Riverhead, New York, USA, on June 27, guards began searching for Leibold. He was found about three minutes later, working in another area of the jail.

Leibold will be disciplined, Sheriff Vincent DeMarco said.

No one is sure why he made the dummy.

The sheriff said the dummy was found during a search for illegal things like weapons, drugs and alcohol.

Leibold was in jail for offenses including driving while drunk. He was going to leave the jail in just 30 days.

"That's what's bizarre about this," DeMarco said.
